About Janet Lynn
Janet Lynn is a professional singer, performer, published songwriter with over 40 years in the music business. Starting out in her parent's band at age 5, Janet sang in most dance halls across Texas. At age 6, she was singing on the famous Louisiana Hayride, where Elvis got his start. She has extensive band experience, live stage performance experience, radio/tv and studio experience in Texas since age 10 and in Nashville at the age of 16. She's toured all over the USA and Europe, performer of television and radio, from Austin City Limits to Nashville's Grand Ole Opry.
In 1999, South By Southwest honored Janet with the Lifetime Achievement award and inducted her into the Texas Music Hall of Fame. In 2000, Janet was inducted to the Texas Western Swing Hall of Fame. The list of artists she's worked with or opened for includes, Johnny Cash, Tommy Cash, Charlie Louvin (from the legendary Louvin Brothers), Wanda Jackson, Kitty Wells, David Ball, Johnny Rodriguez, Johnny Gimble, Stonewall Jackson, Barbara Mandrell, Wanda Jackson, Johnny Paycheck, Johnny Bush, Fiddlin' Frenchie Burke, Ray Price, and many more. A thrill Janet recalls is when Country Music Hall of Fame Songwriter, Cindy Walker, was inducted into the Texas Western Swing Hall of Fame, and Ms. Walker stood on stage with Janet (holding her hand) as Janet sang Ms. Walker's biggest hit song, "You Don't Know Me."
Then in 2007 was tragedy like no other. Janet says "the hardest time in her life" when in 11 months, she lost both her
musician parents and influences and lost her precious 23 year old son, Keith, (a mother's worst nightmare). At that point, Janet's life was changed forever. It was after that loss of family and loss of self that led Janet to life coaching, a new wave alternative to counseling. She then decided it was time to return 'home" to Texas to be near family and life long friends. Her desire is to help others move forward and not be stuck in grief, in life, and after learning how to move forward with God's Grace, helping others and sharing how the Lord has worked in her life to re-define Janet Lynn.
"Get Your Act Together" was developed using Janet's talents, gifts, and education and combining her two passions, music and helping people overcome life's issues or musical walls. Because of her experiences in life and a surviving mom, she understands the "life challenged" people who are striving everyday to get by. Her desire is to help you get your act together, and thrive and shine.....
